Your gift will go directly to Jesus College Cambridge to support critical areas for the benefit of students. We are committed to offering opportunities for students to excel in their studies and research. With your help, JCC Gives will help us go further, building your College’s ability to make the student experience the best it can be. The more we raise, the more we can benefit all who study at Jesus. Join us, and let’s see what we can accomplish together.
You can choose to allocate your gift to support one or more of the following causes:
Student Financial Support
The College needs to be there for our students when they turn to us for help. We must also offer an attractive package of financial support to talented applicants, who might otherwise be unable to afford the ever-increasing costs of higher education.
If you can play a part in growing the Financial Support fund – helping to provide bursaries, scholarships and grants – you can be sure your gift will have real value for students.
Increasing Provision for Master’s Students
Currently 80% of Master’s students at Cambridge are self-funded. We want to change that at Jesus. If we provide greater funding support at Master’s level, we can encourage undergraduates from underrepresented groups who don’t have the financial means to continue in their pursuit of education. This is a positive next step in improving the diversity of academia.
If you can help, not only will your donation impact today’s generation of Master’s students, it will also have a lasting and visible effect within higher education.
Careers & Mentoring
Jesus College is proud of its new mentoring platform, Jesus Connect. We intend to build on its success to develop new careers guidance initiatives, invest in our events programme and better prepare students for life after College.
If you can provide support in this way, your donation will be an investment in our students’ futures.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
Young people today face significant pressures in an increasingly uncertain future. Global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the climate emergency are just two factors weighing heavily in the minds of our current and future students. Feelings of anxiety after moving away from home can be overwhelming.
With your assistance, the College will improve existing services to enable all students to thrive throughout their studies, both academically and personally.
Chapel and Choir
The Chapel is a space of peace, reflection and contemplation. The Chapel clergy offer pastoral support to all in College, and play an important role in supporting student wellbeing. Gaining an international reputation for its music-making, the Choir receives high praise for its performances, recordings and regular services. We are proud of the longstanding tradition of music at Jesus College.
The Chapel and Choir are integral to College life. Your support will strengthen their important activities.
Teaching
Undergraduate supervisions and postgraduate tutorials sit at the heart of a Jesus College education, which is one of the most effective systems of higher education in the world. The cost of such personalised teaching continues to rise – income from fees does not cover the cost of the education we provide.
With your donation, we can safeguard our unique educational system and pursue our charitable purpose well into the future.
Jesus College Cambridge’s inaugural Giving Day, taking place over a 36 hour period on 29 – 30 March 2022.
It’s an opportunity for the College community all over the world to come together and make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of Jesus students. As part of JCC Gives we have several challenge and matching funds waiting to be unlocked, meaning gifts towards the Giving Day go much further than usual.
During this 36 hour online fundraising challenge, from 29 – 30 March 2022, we are aiming to raise as much as possible to support our students.
Your gift today will enable students from all backgrounds to come to Jesus and make the most of their time here irrespective of their financial circumstances.
All gifts, whatever size they may be, add up. Having a large number of donors encourages others to support us too. So whatever you can give you can be sure that your contribution is effective and greatly appreciated.
Gifts made to JCC Gives will go even further than usual. Thanks to an a few extremely generous individuals, a certain amount raised will be matched pound for pound. Furthermore, several donors have provided challenge funds that will be unlocked once we achieve particular goals. Take a look at the ‘Challenges’ page on 29 – 30 March to see if your gift is eligible to unlock funds.
NB: For tax purposes, donors who participate in the giving challenges will be credited for their individual contributions only.
